Very Cool People

Hailing from Riga, Very Cool People are a band known for their distinctive blend of tradition with a modern, energetic approach. Since forming in 2007, they have developed a unique musical identity, combining expressive instrumentation and improvisation with a strong rhythmic foundation creating a powerful and engaging live experience from Estonia to Romania, from Spain to South Korea.

Renowned for their dynamic performances, Very Cool People have performed at numerous venues and festivals across Europe and beyond, collaborating with a diverse array of vocalists and guest artists. Their experimental, genre-crossing approach has enabled to evolve continuously while maintaining a recognisable, authentic sound. Alongside their active concert schedule, the band has released ten studio albums reflecting their artistic growth. Their recordings have received critical acclaim and multiple award nominations. In 2025, Very Cool People won Jazz-Funk Group of the Year at the Latvian Music Awards, GAMMA. The band also received nominations in 2024 at both the GAMMA and Zelta Mikrofons awards for their album Dzīvs.
