Earl Elliot is a mismatch of influences melting together. The Antwerp-born songwriter brings 2000s indie nostalgia with glimpses of hyperpop and alternative R&B. The productions are maximalist but with a clear indie approach, sometimes abbrasive or nearing a bedroom sound. It’s popstar ambitions with around deeply personal songs, catchy and introspective, an online sound to an offline life.
Earlier this year he put out ‘Elliot 1’, his first mixtape, with a packed release event and a limited physical cd-release. The heavy focus on video content surrounding ‘Elliot 1’, and music video’s that won an award at the Dutch Film Festival in 2021, helps in creating a complete world around the songs.
